3D MODELING
A New Dimension
Visualization can be a vital tool in a multitude of projects. 3D maps and models allow you to have a digital representation of your site, allowing you to see grade changes, building facades, and tall objects that otherwise could be missed with a traditional map. Drones make it quick and easy to hold your site in your hands.
How it works
Drone technology has undergone incredible advancement since its inception. Alterra is powered by the latest drone and camera solutions to deliver high-quality deliverables.

Our pilot plans an autonomous mission that covers the desired area of the project. On site, the pilot checks for any obstructions to ensure safe operation, sets up the takeoff location and any ground markers that are needed. The drone then flies this mission while taking pictures, creating a dataset that incorporates the entire site. Complex missions with facades may involve manual control in order to ensure safety.

Next, the images are imported into photogrammetry processing software. This program stitches the images together into a 3D representation of your site

Usable Data
Current widely available 3D data is only available in certain areas, outdated, and low quality. Drone data provides a true digital twin of your site, allowing remote inspection with attached high quality source images for further detail.
Use Cases
Site Modeling
Site Traffic Planning
Construction progress
Accurate Height Measurement
Remote Inspections
Work In Progress
Alterra can generate a new model in time intervals, allowing you to monitor, document, and share progress without having to leave your office.
Supercharge your Topo
Points and lines in CAD can be hard to visualize in the office. Avoid sending technicians back to the site with a 3D model of the surveyed area that provides a realistic, detailed representation of the terrain, making it easier to identify subtle features or small details that may otherwise be overlooked or difficult to convey with standard data. By having a comprehensive 3D view of the site, teams can enhance their understanding of the project environment from the office, reducing the need for multiple site visits and improving the accuracy of design and decision-making.
